As we enter the new year, now is the perfect time to consider making upgrades to your lighting to create the perfect ambience within your home. We've put together some of our tips to refresh your lighting this season.
Dimmer switches
One of the easiest ways to improve the ambience in your home is swapping your standard light switches for a series of dimmer switches. This means that you will be able to have more flexibility with the intensity of your lighting.
When changing your switches into dimmers, you need to ensure that the light bulbs are dimmer compatible (which may mean updating your light bulbs too) and to ensure that the dimmer switches used are LED compatible.
At the Light House we will be able to assist you with this, providing you with our recommendations to ensure that the transition is done correctly.
Update your lamp shades
Have you got lamp shades that haven't been upgraded in years, or perhaps have faded in the sun? Swapping these out is a quick, easy and simple way to refresh your table and floor lamps without needing to swap the whole fitting.

These are also available in different sizes too and so if you're struggling to work out which size to go with, then why not get in touch with us today. Not only are shades perfect for table and floor lamps, you can also upgrade the shades on your pentants too. if you have a simple cable set with a shade, then it's likely that you can upgrade the shade with some of our easy fit options. If you're unsure, send us a picture and we can check.
Adding layers
Adding additional table or floor lamps to your space can help to add further depth to your home and helps to provide more options for lighting your home.
Ditching the old non-LED lighting
You may still have some lighting in your home that isn't LED. Now is the time to ditch those and move to new LED equivalents. This will save you electricity and will help to provide you with improved lighting quality.
Maybe it's the fluorescent tube in the garage or kitchen, or a flush fitting in the bathroom. Here are a couple of replacement LED fittings to consider, plus they come with a 3 year warranty!
